Kyiv photographer speaks about effects of mission and drone strikes on activities
  • Lina Rudenko, a Kyiv photographer, is determined to document the resilience and hardships of Kyiv residents amidst the missile and drone attacks on Kyiv . These airstrikes, part of Russia's largest assault on Ukraine in months, involved 120 missiles and 90 drones targeting critical energy infrastructure, leaving significant destruction in their wake.

Lina - "The attacks on November 15 to 16, 2024 not only disrupted daily life but also led to the cancellation of the Jazz and Rock festival I organized. Despite this setback, I received last-minute permission to hold an animal adoption event with the help of dedicated volunteers. Thanks to this effort, 52 animals found safe and loving homes, a glimmer of hope during these trying times.

As a Kyiv photographer, I am committed to safely capturing images that convey the struggles and resilience of my fellow Ukrainians. Next week, I will begin scouting locations to document the ongoing challenges faced by Kyiv residents and share their stories through my lens. My goal is to ensure the world understands the pain and strength of those enduring the conflict while celebrating their unwavering spirit.

The role of photography in war-torn Ukraine has never been more crucial, and I will use my craft to shed light on the impact of the missile and drone attacks on Kyiv, showcasing the perseverance of its people in the face of adversity."
