The past few days in Ukraine have been a rollercoaster, yet our holiday resilience shines through. Post-Christmas celebrations began on a shaky note when a bomb threat interrupted our event. Two long hours later, it turned out to be a cruel prank. But we didn’t let it dampen our spirits. We ended the day with a mesmerizing soap bubble show that brought joy to the children—proving that no trouble can overshadow the memories we hold dear.
Today, I braved the post-holiday shopping frenzy. Despite everything happening here, the bustling energy felt comforting, a reminder that life pushes forward. I stood in line forever but managed to snag the ingredients for my favorite dessert, “Broken Glass.” My dad teases me about its name, but he can’t resist asking for seconds. Maybe I’m better at this baking thing than he thinks!
Now, as the New Year approaches, I’m deep into planning mode. Even amidst the challenges, I’m determined to create an unforgettable evening to reflect on the past year and welcome the next with hope and strength. Here in Ukraine, celebration is our defiance, and our holiday resilience keeps us moving forward. Let’s step into 2024 with unshakable joy and determination.
